What is it?
automationbridge helps bring different home automation and smart home systems together. Technologies that would not normally talk to each other natively, can now communicate harmoniously.
Inspired by open-source solutions, our system builds on these solid foundations and integrates them together creating a simplified, powerful and cohesive system.
How do I use it?
Simply connect the automationbridge hardware (a small, low-powered device) to your home router or network switch via the included ethernet cable.
Once connected, you will be able to securely access the clean, easy to use interface via your local web browser. Setup and unification of your smart home devices is then as simple as “point and click” – no complicated coding – you will be up and running in minutes.
What does it integrate with?
automationbridge is designed to work with the Fibaro Home Center, Fibaro Home Centre Lite & Vera Edge/Plus Z-Wave Gateway Controllers.
Once automationbridge is connected to your home network, you will be able to include your Z-Wave devices and scenes.
You will also be able to control your living spaces via Amazon Alexa, Siri or Google Home. Turn Z-Wave devices on or off, dim lights and run scenes, using only your voice.
automationbridge has been extensively tested with Amazon Echo, Google Home and iOS HomeKit.
We have developed a native Google Home app for integration, and this is now available in the Google Home application.
How Secure is it ?
No network changes are required on your internet connection device, and all communication to/from external voice services is secured with HTTPS using SSL certificates, no identifiable data is stored on our server platforms, nor transmitted between providers.
What other devices does it support?
A built-in network discovery tool allows automationbridge to automatically find other smart devices in your home. Once discovered, you can then choose to pay a small fee and download a plugin – further expanding the capabilities of automationbridge (please note this feature is currently limited to Fibaro controllers)
Where smart devices are discovered that are not currently supported via a plugin, you can easily submit them to us for consideration – if we receive enough requests and it is feasibly possible, we will look to develop a plugin.
At launch, plugins are available for these smart devices;
Logitech Harmony Hub
Automatically and easily add your Harmony Hub Activities to Fibaro Home Center as Virtual Devices, allowing individual control or inclusion as part of Z-Wave scenes. As an example, you can easily create the perfect movie time scene, all of your AV equipment will turn on to the correct inputs and your lights will dim slowly, just like a real cinema.
This plugin will also make your Harmony Hub Activities available to your voice control devices… including Siri, Amazon Echo and Google Home.
The Bose plugin can find all your SoundTouch devices and automatically add them to Fibaro Home Center… with full functionality for on/off, station presets and volume control. You will also be able to control your Bose SoundTouch using voice control with your favourite assistant.
The Sonos plugin can find all your Sonos Speakers and add them to Fibaro Home Center, with all actions and favourites. You will then be able to action your speaker from scenes and enable it for voice control using your favourite assistant.
Belkin WeMo WiFi Switches
This plugin locates all the WeMo switches on your network and allows them to be easily added (with full functionality) as a Virtual Device in Fibaro Home Center. You will also be able to control your WeMo Switches with your voice using Siri, Amazon Echo or Google Home.
This plugin locates the NanoLeaf Aurora devices on your network and then creates Virtual Devices in your Fibaro system, with support for on / off, dim and Aurora scene control. There is also a refresh process to add new Aurora scenes as they are created in the Nanoleaf app.
More plugins are in the works, and we are currently working on supporting Roomba, Roku (Telstra TV) and Samsung TV’s.
What does it look like?
Electronic support is provided either by email or directly from within the automationbridge interface via the in-built support system. Support and software updates are always free.
More information, FAQ’s and Setup Guides can be found here.
We know that from time to time, manufacturers change their devices and their underlying methods of communication. We always endeavour to update automationbridge to quickly accommodate these changes – and these updates are always free of charge.
Once you receive your automationbridge, you are required to register your device via our online registration system – this ensures your device is valid and enables you to receive free lifetime upgrades and support.
We collect some information as part of the registration process, along with scheduled checks against our server for updates and new plugins. This information is limited to your device identifier and your internet IP address, so that we can protect against any un-authorised use of the automationbridge device.
We take your right to privacy and security very seriously. We have taken all steps necessary to make sure your privacy is always respected and protected.
